Like all Metcal systems, the MX-500S features interchangeable tip cartridges that utilize SmartHeat® technology and a compact power supply with automatic power shut-off (after 30 minutes of non-use) that maximizes tip cartridge life. The MX-500S system is ESD-safe and meets Mil-Specs. It operates on 100/120VAC and includes a two-port switchable power supply with power cord, soldering/rework handpiece (without tip cartridge), workstand with sponge, and cartridge removal pad.
