These stages offer high load capacity in a design based on three parallel plates. Bearing blocks in the top and bottom plates hold pre-loaded linear ball bushings. The inner plate supports pairs of hardened and polished steel rods that ride in the bushings. Backlash is eliminated by spring loading the moving assemblies against the tip of the actuator. The stages may be mounted in any orientation.
