Here’s one for the Cold War collectors! Complete and in (repairable) working order, a RADIOLOGICAL SURVEY METER Model CD V-700 Model 4 manufactured by Universal Atomics. In addition to the survey meter itself you’ll find: INSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL In 1959 I was trained as a Class 4 Radiological Monitor, tasked with training people in the use, operation and care of the V-700. As with many programs of the day, the activity was dropped after about a year and since I was the only one who really knew anything about the device, I was told to keep it “in case of future need.†The instruction book is still solid and totally legible, the pages slightly browned and the cover somewhat grungy. It covers theory, use, schematic and parts list. The headset is functional. The steel headband has surface rust. The plastic strap is in excellent condition but shows some light discoloration in places. The sample source disk, used to play “hide the button†in training, shows slight corrosion but is otherwise intact. Questions are welcome and will be answered promptly.
