Dimensions: 0.79 in x 0.79 in x 0.2 in Weight: 0.14 oz The voltage can be measured, but excessive current (e.g driving it with a 1W driver board) could possibly damage it, unless the forward voltage drop for this IR led is low relative to a white led. e.g. a 1W white led with a typical 3V voltage drop carries 1/3=0.333A. Thus, if this IR led's forward voltage drop is say 1.6V as normal red leds, then it's power dissipation would be 1.6 x 0.333= 0.53 which is OK. So it could be swapped into a 1W white led flashlight. But if it's forward voltage drop is similar to white leds, then power dissipation would be 1W which might burn out the LED.
