(50) MC14053B CMOS 4053 MUX / DEMUX ANALOG SIGNAL / DIGITAL SIGNAL SWITCHES), New old stock (NOS ICs) CMOS MC14053B ICs. Also referred to as, "Triple Two-Channel Analog Multiplexers / Demultiplexers (MUX / DEMUX) with chip Inhibit". Commonly used for analog and digital signal gating, analog and digital multiplexing / demultiplexing, analog-to-digital conversions (i.e. ADC or A/D conversions), and digital-to-analog conversions (i.e. DAC or D/A conversions). Just as with switches and relays, the analog signal or digital signal being switched can be any polarity respective to the In/Out and Out/In pins. Furthermore, if you input into the control pins pulses of the timing and duration required to support momentary-ON or momentary-OFF functions, the 4053 becomes a bank of momentary-ON switches and/or momentary-OFF switches (depending on how the throws are wired) - switch operations typical of momentary-ON pushbutton and momentary-OFF pushbutton switches (PB switches) (e.g. SPST-MON, SPST-MOFF). All together, the 4053 can replicate an incredible 18 different toggle switch, pushbutton switch and relay functions (SPST, DPST, 3PST, SPDT, DPDT, 3PDT, SPDT-CO, DPDT-CO, 3PDT-CO, SPST-MON, DPST-MON, 3PST-MON, SPST-MOFF, DPST-MOFF, 3PST-MOFF, SPDT-MON/MOFF, DPDT-MON/MOFF, and 3PDT-MON/MOFF)! All of these functions can be controlled through digital circuitry or relay, or if manual control, through cheap and simple Single-Pole-Single-Throw switches (i.e. SPST switches or 1P1T switches, e.g. toggle switches, dip switch, rotary switch) - saving YOU tons of money, fabrication time and space on costly and hard-to-get DPDT and 3PDT mechanical switches and relays - especially the CO type switches. While the ever-popular CD4066 / MC14066 Quad Bilateral Switch makes a nice bank of SPST switches, as you can see the 4066 is limited to a small fraction of the switch types characteristic of the very versatile CD4053 / MC14053. The MC14053 is equivalent to the CD4053 / CD4053B, HEF4053 / HEF4053B, HCF4053 / HCF4053B, SGS4053 /SGS4053B, TC4053 / TC4053B and others of the CMOS 4053 stripe. I have a great quantity of these now hard-to-get CMOS 4053 ICs, however, for my applications, I go through these like candy so I don't expect my supply to last, so don't postpone your ordering.
