GTLS (Gaseous Tritium Light Sources) The Peglight is a self-illuminated peg designed to be driven into hard ground, timber or tarmac, and used to identify weapon positions, infantry arcs of fire, cleared paths through minefields and a host of other functions. The GTLS (Gaseous Tritium Light Sources) produces light from both a series of holes in one side and from the top. It incorporates a ring and springclip to ease fixing to webbing, trees, nails, wire, etc. The Peglight needs no power supply of any sort. Illumination is provided by the GTLS (Gaseous Tritium Light Sources) a borosilicate glass capsule, internally phosphor-coated, and filled with tritium gas, which activates the phosphor to emit light. The Peglight is visible with the naked eye under clear starlight at ranges of up to 25 metres.. It is designed for use in forward areas where maximum security is essential, and has a limited viewing angle of 90° (1600 milliradians) The Peglight has an in service life of 10 years with no need for any maintenance. It conforms to MoD Defence Standard 62-4. The Peglight can be rapidly and easily implanted in to hard earth, wood or tarmac, or attached to trees, wire, webbing, nails, etc. LIGHTWEIGHT and CLIMATE-PROOF: The Peglight is designed to survive the harshest climatic and operational conditions, and weighs just 60 gms. Ideal as a forward-area route marker for personnel and vehicles.
