Compared to ordinary LED flex lights, the LUXEON® Rebel high-performance LED provides up to 20 times more light and runs for close to 2 hours on two AA alkaline batteries (included). A rugged 10" long gooseneck flexes to avoid obstructions in close quarters, and the small diameter of the light head allows access to tight areas. A tapered head design reduces snagging when the tool is removed from inspection areas. The gooseneck is covered with a tough PVC tube that protects the neck from dirt, grease and most liquids. The Maxxeon WorkStar® 440 features a black, Type II anodized aluminum body and head, a rugged 12 inch PE coated flex neck and a tail clicky switch. It has a state-of-the-art DC-to-DC step-up LED driver circuit, which provides a run-time of 1.5 hours with two AA alkaline batteries, under intermittent operation. It is compatible with user-provided nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries, which can significantly extend the run-time. (NOT INCLUDED) * Easy to slip into tight places, the 440's head is very small, only 18 mm in diameter. Notice how it tapers smoothly down to the neck to prevent snagging on wires and pipes, etc., when extracting it from tight spaces. Thanks to careful thermal design and the efficiency of of the Rebel LED, the head does not get hot! * Pumping out 90 lumens from the LUXEON® Rebel LED, it's bright! The orange peel reflector is custom designed for the WorkStar™ 440. * The result is a beam pattern with a nice center hot-spot and a very smooth and perfectly sized spill pattern for an inspection light. * The beam pattern, at a distance of 6 inches, is 6 inches in diameter with a 2 inch diameter hot-spot. * The tool feels solid in your hands. It has great balance without feeling front-heavy. The extra reach is 12 inches overall, with 10 inches of flex.
