This is a new, old stock Best Lock padlock, Model 11B. It is marked SAFETY FIRST on one side in red letters. On the opposite, also in red, is the old Best Lock Company logo from the days when the Best family owned and operated the Best Lock Company. Best was one of the few lock companies 50 years ago that was selling safety lockout padlocks. The solid brass case is 1 5/8 inches wide and 2 inches tall. The steel shackle (1/4 inch in diameter) has a 3/4 inch clearance. This lock will come with a Best core, F keyway, 7 pin. It will also include one original Best operating key and one control key, which allows for core replacement in the event of a security compromise. The keys are factory stamped "It is unlawful to duplicate this key." BEST locks are typically only available to corporations and institutions.
