New pair of hi-end gm-70 (copper plate) triodes ~845
New and Unused Popular Russian Audiophile GM-70 Tubes
The GM-70 is a High-Power Low-Frequency Triode, made in the Russian city of Ulyanovsk. Designed by Svetlana factory in St. Petersburg, Russia about 50 years ago.
The GM-70 triode is used as a low-frequency power amplifier in RF equipment. This direct heated triode vacuum tube is the largest output triode available in audio today, very popular in power amps, providing deep and powerful bass response.
These tubes are perfect for the Hi-End audiophile designer, and are very well known in the Japan audiophile market. Both the single end monoblocks and the high power push-pull monoblocks have a very magnificent smooth sound using the GM-70. By the way, GM-70 is used in a deHavilland GM70 monoblock amplifier selling for $10,000.00.
* Reliability. GM-70 develops no whisker noise.
* Plate dissipation (845 in Class A: 75 Watt, 845 Class C 100 Watt, GM-70: 125 Watt Class A).
* Output power (845 gives 22 Watt at 1200 Volt, GM-70 gives 43 Watt at 1200 Volt).
* Minimum required plate voltage. GM-70 works fine at 800 Volt.
As you may know, higher filament power will make any tube work better. This is also what makes the GM70 work so much better and easier to use than the 845.
Directly heated carbonized tungsten
at grid voltage -175 V, at least
at grid voltage -200 V, at most
Mutual conductance (at anode voltage 600 V, anode current 160-260 mA)
Gain coefficient (at anode voltage 1-1.2 kV, anode current 125 mA)
Plate dissipation for 1 minute
Military equipment, New Old Stock, Never used. Made in Ulyanovsk, USSR in 1978.
