this is a new and unused tap for tapping brass bronze steel with a 8 threads per inch 1 inch diameter left hand V form thread. A rougher tap is one that rough cuts the thread at less than full depth to reduce power needed for tapping tough materials. This cuts the thread at about .062 below the full od.
