Chainsaw mill - transform your chainsaw into a sawmill
Norwood® PortaMill™ Chainsaw Sawmill
Never pay for high-priced, store bought lumber again ...
Mill your own "FREE" lumber, beams & boards with your own Norwood® PortaMill™ chainsaw sawmill.
Make accurate, smooth dimensional lumber … 2x4s, 4x4s, 2x6s, 6x6s …Make square beams and boards … to your dimension … anytime. With the Norwood® PortaMill™, you use your chainsaw as the sawhead and your household ladder as the track. Mill logs up to 14" in diameter*, and as long as your ladder permits. Here's how -
1. Clamp your log in place - Position the log rests and lock the adjustable log dog.
2. Choose your cutting depth - Turn the crank handle to raise or lower the chainsaw.
3. Make your cut - Engage the throttle at the push handle and advance the saw along the track.
You probably already have chainsaw and ladder sitting in your garage right now. What projects could you do if you had your own sawmill?
The Norwood® PortaMill™ can handle large green softwoods and hardwoods alike up to 14" in diameter.*
Transports and Stores Easily -
Take your Norwood® PortaMill™ with you anywhere in the back of your boat, plane, ATV, snowmobile or car. The PortaMill™ takes just minutes to set-up or take-down thanks to its quick-connect/quick-disconnect components. And when you're done milling, you can store your PortaMill™ just about anywhere!
The PortaMill's patented platform includes an adjustable outrigger arm to accommodate ladders of different widths. Comes complete with track sweepers and quick-connect/quick-disconnect 2-way adjustable, carriage-retaining balance-wheel assemblies.
Smoothly and accurately raise and lower the sawhead (and horizontally-mounted chainsaw) by turning the crank conveniently located at the top of the vertical guide bar - Clockwise for up and counter-clockwise for down.
Accurately set your depth-of-cut using the professional "quarter scale" supplied with your PortaMillâ„¢. Scaled at 2" and 1" with a 5/16th kerf already calculated in, there is also a "user scale" so that you can mill your own custom thickness. Engaging the depth-of-cut locking handle locks the height of the sawhead for precise, accurate cuts.
The Norwood® PortaMill™ comes standard with two log dog/log rest assemblies for fast dogging and positive locking. Also features "back" dogs for fast dogging of squared beams, cants and boards.
Powder-Coating & Zinc-Plating -
As with all Norwood® equipment, the PortaMill™ is protected by tough, long-lasting powder-coating and zinc-plating for maximum rust-resistance.
The PortaMillâ„¢ features an adjustable push handle that you can set to suit your height. The handle-mounted throttle control allows you to comfortably activate the chainsaw throttle while guiding the saw through the cut. The push handle also features soft, cushy grips.
The PortaMill in this listing includes the optional Auxiliary Chain & Bar Oiler –
Your chainsaw only delivers oil to the top of the bar where it is easily thrown off at the nose, especially when the saw is mounted sideways for milling. The auxiliary oiler kit reduces friction and heat of the chain by up to 50%. It delivers oil to the sprocket of your sawbar. The oiler kit includes a bottle, bottle basket, oil line with valve and copper nozzle.
