This precision instrument is part of the deceased estate of an old school toolmaker. From a time when accuracy was everything. This is a gauge specifically for measuring run-out. It is a lever type action at about 30degrees to the actual clock face rather than the normal up and down action. It is fitted with a lock to prevent accidental damage and has a cumulative inner ring for ease of reading. Included are 3 types of securing devices and they are all housed in a felt lined cloth covered timber box. Unfortunately, the cloth covering on the box has deteriorated with time and usage but is still truly an interesting piece. Thanks for looking at one of our items!
