The is a very cutting edge, high tech item from Sper Scientific! It is a Sper Scientific, model 840002, hotwire CFM anemometer / flow meter. Wind speed and air volume are measured by using a hot wire probe, which means no moving parts to wear out. Furthermore, the unit will automatically record up to 16,000 data points in the field along with time and date. The data can later be downloaded to to a computer via the meter's RS 232 port, and the results viewed instantly using the included software. The software also enables real time data logging directly from the meter to a computer. The unit is able to calculate air volume (CFM) as well as air velocity and min and max values. There are a total of 7 different measurement scales that volume and velocity can be displayed, which are shown below. It Also features a calendar / clock, auto power off and hold functions, and the ability to read type-K or J thermocouple probes (which can be purchased seperately). Temperature measurements are made with a very accurate built in thermistor. It also features a fold out tripod and large easy to read LCD. Comes ready to use in foam lined carrying case, complete with a telescoping hot-wire anemometer probe, software, RS232 computer connection cable, and a 9V battery.
