Simmonds, 6 Piece Carpenter's Chisel Set with Stone The S. F. Simmonds Collection of New Tools is proud to present the following item for sale from our fine collection of Professional Trade Tools. This is our finest Cabinetmaker's 6 Piece Chisel Set, complete with an 8 inch 2 sided Sharpening Stone, and case not shown. Made to our specification from fine grain carbon steel and hardened to Rc 54-58, the chisels measure a massive 9.5" overall. These chisels are ideal for bench and field use, and the longer length is much easier to control than the shorter butt chisel by Irwin. Blades are laquer coated and need only a slight honing to be razor sharp. Top edges of the chisel are beveled for dovetailing use. The sizes are as follows: 1/4"...1/2"...3/4"...1"...1 1/4"...1 1/2". The stone measures 2" by 8" by 3/4", with a medium and fine grit. As the tools come properly angled with a flat beveled tip, no course stone honing should ever be required.
